The Buzz of Summer at Borde Hill
From golden afternoons and fragrant blooms to the joy of alfresco events, August hums with life. Young explorers can step into The Enchanted Garden, a magical story trail winding through our woodland, while nature’s vibrant backdrop sets the scene for live music.
With summer at its height, herbaceous blooms sway along Paradise Walk, while the Mid Summer Border dazzles with fiery perennials, grasses and Gold Standard roses. Potted agapanthus frame the Italian Garden’s lily pool - a tranquil spot to linger and let August’s warmth surround you.

A Grand Doggy Day Out
Sun 23rd Aug | 10.30am-3.30pm
Bring your four-legged friends for tail-wagging fun on the Azalea Ring, featuring dog-friendly activities, independent pop-up shops, flyball and pet photography. Take part in the fun dog show, or relax in a dappled spot with your canine companion. With treats, ice cream, and paddling pools, it’s a fantastic day out for dogs and their owners alike. Included in admission and free for members.
Kids Summer Trail
The Enchanted Garden
Daily to Sun 6th Sept | 10am-5pm
Join Piccolo, the Fairy Garden's smallest pixie, on a woodland story trail for children aged 3-8. Along the way, weave a natural loom, play games, and visit the Fairy Glade. Free for members or £2* per child, plus admission.
*This summer, we’re taking part in the Great British Summer Savings initiative with special prices for family admission, trails, and kids’ food at the Summerhouse Café.
Music in the Garden
Pack a hamper, unroll a blanket, and relax to live music on the Azalea Ring, from 1-3pm. Included in admission and free to members.

Celebrating Our Heritage Trees
Conserving the natural world is at the heart of everything we do at Borde Hill. Our nationally important collection of Champion and heritage trees includes remarkable specimens grown from seed collected by the Great Plant Hunters over a century ago. These historic trees shape our landscape, shelter wildlife and connect us to our heritage.

ABBA Under the Stars
Live Tribute Concert

Dazzling costumes, feel-good vibes and all the hits you love - performed by a live band in a high-energy show on the South Lawn.
Canopy Tree Climbing

Experience Borde Hill from a new perspective during a one-hour tree climbing session. Suitable for everyone aged 6+, this woodland adventure takes you high into the canopy using specialised arborist equipment, with expert guidance throughout.
Specialist Autumn Plant Fair

The Plant Fairs Roadshow returns to the Azalea Ring, featuring locally grown, garden-worthy, and unique plants to inspire keen gardeners. It's the perfect opportunity to choose plants from leading independent nurseries. Included in admission and free to members.
