Last chance for a rooftop view

Visitors to Blenheim Palace have only two months remaining to experience once-in-a-lifetime Rooftop Views, which come to an end on Sunday 19th April.

The Palace Rooftop Experience is a once in a lifetime opportunity to climb up to the specially designed rooftop platform of Britain’s Greatest Palace and take in sweeping views across Blenheim Estate - from the Great Court and the Grand Bridge to the Column of Victory.

Visitors can also witness up close the current £12 million roof restoration project, which aims to preserve the 300-year-old palace’s historic architecture and safeguard its heritage for future generations.

This monumental undertaking began in early 2025 after a combination of age, climate change and penetration from rainfall led to the declining state of the roof, the attic timbers and ceilings below. The Palace received a £250,000 National Lottery Heritage Fund grant to conserve two nationally significant Baroque paintings by Sir James Thornhill and Louis Laguerre in the Great Hall and Saloon - both priceless artworks at risk of being lost forever if the work was not carried out.

Admission to the Rooftop Views is included with a valid Palace & Gardens Ticket or Palace and Play Pass, which grants access to both Blenheim Palace and Adventure Play for a full year, giving visitors more fun, more discovery, more history at Britain’s Greatest Palace.

To coincide with the current Blueprints of Power exhibition, there are daily ‘Vanbrugh on the Roof Talk’ tours - an immersive talk with the legendary architect himself. Join him and see the Palace from his perspective and uncover the ideas that defined its iconic silhouette. Daily at 2pm.
