An unusual sign at Longleat

Keep an eye out for a very unusual sign in our Drive-Through Safari; "Wolf Pups on Road".

Wolf Wood has become a training ground for four-month-old wolf pups, born to mum Meg, as they take their first steps into the main Safari. Until now, the pups have only seen vehicles from a distance, so guests are being asked to take extra care as they explore their new surroundings.

European wolves are a protected species, and the pups’ arrival is part of our ongoing focus on the conservation of endangered and vulnerable animals.

As Meg and her brood settle into the main Safari, the previous pack of boys have moved to a new home in Scotland.

Meg is raising eight boys, who are already forming a strong pack dynamic as they play, explore and take their first steps into Wolf Wood. Some are bolder than others and have not yet ventured far, but Meg is gently encouraging them every step of the way.

Keep your eyes peeled on your next Drive-Through Safari visit and please take it slowly through Wolf Wood while the pups find their paws.
