Winter weekends at Harewood

We're thrilled to say that Harewood officially reopen for the 2026 Winter Weekends tomorrow, and they cannot wait to welcome you.

The House is open, the lake is looking majestic, and the gardens are sparkling with winter frost; now all they are missing is you!

Winter at Harewood 
Uncover the magic that happens behind the scenes at Harewood House with conservation in action during winter weekends. When you visit, you might spot their collections team carefully preserving the house and its stunning treasures, or see their gardeners working to protect the gardens against the winter frost.

Take a stroll down to their iconic Capability Brown Lake and enjoy nature at play as ducks and swans delight in the cool water this winter.

Or explore the Himalayan Garden and discover the Daphne bholua ‘Jaqueline Postill’ - a Nepalese Paper plant that’s one of the earliest flowering shrubs at Harewood. It is also among the most fragrant; the pink buds open to clusters of white flowers, which have a strong, delightfully sweet scent.

During Winter, Harewood is open Friday to Sunday (and every day during February Half Term) from Friday 16 January to Sunday 22nd March. 

Exclusive Tours and experiences are available on Thursdays. These must be pre-booked.
