Aircraft Conservation work goes on Show.

This month, the Michael Beetham Conservation Centre at the Royal Air Force Museum Cosford will open its doors, allowing Museum visitors behind the scenes access to aircraft conservation projects and the chance to speak with the teams who carry out this vital work.  Read more

Christmas Markets at Hatton Shopping Village

Hatton Shopping Village, the quintessentially English Victorian shopping village and home to a host of independent retailers, is hosting several festive events in the run up to Christmas. The popular Christmas Markets will take place on 16 & 17, 23 & 24 & 30 November and 1, 7 & 8, 14 & 15, 21 & 22 December from 10am – 5pm. On the 16 & 17 November there will also be a festive fashion show. For those after a unique and special Christmas gift, there will be a diverse range of stalls from local suppliers selling a multitude of gifts. The Royal Air Force Museum is teaming up with venues across the country for the ‘RAF Stories Big Weekend’, a national story collecting event capturing local stories relating to the Royal Air Force. Discovery Centre Bonfire - Selling Out Fast.

Following on from the success of the event for the last two years, the staff at the centre are staging their bonfire and firework display again this year on Saturday 26th October. With children’s rides and entertainment, there will be plenty to do before the firework spectacular! There will be glow sticks, a hog roast and full bar from Wood’s Brewery as well as a catering from the Centre’s award winning café team.   Read more

The British Motor Museum is celebrating its return to the conference market with two Open Days. Following a four-year absence from the conference market and a £2million refurbishment of its MICE facilities, the Conference Team are inviting businesses that have a requirement for meetings, exhibitions, corporate dinners or outdoor events to come and look at what’s new. Model Aircraft Fans are in for a Treat at the British Motor Museum!

The British Motor Museum hosts the 11th ‘Large Model Aircraft Show’ on Sunday 27 October. Visitors can see over 100 large static radio controlled model aircraft at the annual indoor show. Organised by the Large Model Association, this popular family event offers visitors the chance to see the models ‘up close’ without the restriction of flight line fencing.  Read more

Thump of the Tale in the Granary Art Gallery at Weston Park 28th September – 30th October 2019 Thump of the Tale is a snapshot of works which seek, not to illustrate the stories, but to use themes and elements and connect them to memories as prompts. Stratford’s popular and free to enter Arts Fair Discover:Gather:Give returns to the historic Stratford-upon-Avon Town Hall over the weekend of 2 & 3 November. Alongside the 40 exceptional artists with an exciting and eclectic mix of paintings, illustrations, ceramics, jewellery, glasswork, decoupage, textiles, wood turning, digital art, sculpture, upcycling steampunk and book binding, visitors will also be able to vote to name a Shakespeare’s Puppy Guide Dog.  Read more

Museums at Night at BMM

For the first time the British Motor Museum is taking part in ‘Museums at Night’, a bi-annual national festival funded by Arts Council England. The Museum will be hosting an exclusive 1970s themed throwback evening on 31 October from 5:30pm – 9pm showcasing archive material from that era from both the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s collection as well as guest motoring archives including the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust. This special evening offers visitors a fantastic range of activities and displays along with supper, outside of normal opening hours and is also an ideal way to avoid trick or treaters on Halloween!  Read more
