Open Season at Kiplin Hall & Gardens

A cote of 543 paper doves has come to roost a Kilpin Hall this November. Volunteers have been working since August to fold old maps into the origami paper birds to form an art installation in the main staircase and historic rooms of the hall. One has even been flown in by mail from a follower in American.  Read more

Kiplin Hall & Gardens is launching a new, spooky Halloween trail this Autumn. Halloween at Kiplin is bigger and better than ever this Autumn with a new outdoor trail that will take visitors deep into Kiplin’s historic woodland.  The woodland was originally planted by Christopher Crowe over 300 years ago, and this ghoulish trail adds an extra, exciting element to the festivities at Kiplin.   Read more

James Herriot's Car Comes to Thirsk

The original Austin car that appeared in the feature film ‘It Shouldn’t Happen to a Vet’ that was released on 11 April 1976 (UK) now has pride of place at the World of James Herriot In Thirsk. The team at the attraction are buzzing after an eventful delivery of the vehicle using hoists to lift it over the rear wall to place it in a newly created presentation space in the garden.  Read more
