	Overnight parking now available in Leicester To provide a warm welcome to group travel visitors to Leicester, Leicester Shire Promotions is working with the city’s largest visitor attraction, the National Space Centre, to provide overnight coach parking facilities for visiting groups and tours. The new arrangements are in response to increased interest in the city following the recent archaeological digs and the possible discovery of the remains of King Richard III.  Read more

	Impact of tourism in Leicestershire New figures have shown that the visitor economy in Leicester and Leicestershire has continued to grow and reached £1.402 billion in 2011. In 2010, the economic impact of tourism was £1.321 billion. This new research also shows that the value of overnight stay visitors to Leicester and Leicestershire - the economic impact of the serviced and non-serviced accommodation sector - rose by 20 per cent over the last five years (from 2007-2011).  Read more
	Leicester Shire Promotions secures funding Awarded £220,000 to deliver heritage projects promoting attractions and museums across Leicester and Leicestershire, and a Heritage Corridor based around Great Central Railway. Arts Council England has awarded two Renaissance Strategic Support funding grants totalling £220,000 to Leicester Shire Promotions for major projects to promote Leicester and Leicestershire's heritage attractions and independent museums to visitors.  Read more
