The extraordinary relics of one of the country’s largest Roman villas were unveiled anew in 2012 following a major project to bring to life the golden age of Roman Britain.

Our striking new building provides all-weather access to the distinctive mosaics, while the wider site offers a tranquil setting and the opportunity to wander among the Roman ruins and enjoy the idyllic rural views. There are also stories about how the Victorians shaped the site and artefacts from past excavations in our historic museum.
