Saltram stands high above the River Plym in a rolling and wooded landscaped park that now provides precious green space on the outskirts of Plymouth. The house, with its magnificent decoration and original contents, was home to three generations of the Parker family.

Highlights include Robert Adam’s Neo-classical Saloon, exquisite plasterwork ceilings, original Chinese wallpapers and ceramics and an exceptional collection of paintings including several by Sir Joshua Reynolds and Angelica Kauffman. The garden is predominantly 19th-century and contains an 18th-century Orangery and follies, as well as beautiful shrubberies and imposing specimen trees offering year-round interest and delight.

Note: groups on a free-flow basis welcome, entry to house is by timed ticket.
