Zach Barber – Shropshire Hills and Beyond, A Salopians View

A view of nature, Shropshire Hills and farming people as well as the odd observation from the urban environment. Printed on acid free exhibition grade fine art inkjet paper and framed to the highest quality.

Carol Bowen and Gordon Bailey

Exhibiting a mixture of Gordon’s photography and Carol’s pastel and watercolour paintings, this collection shows the very best of these talented artists’ work. Cards and framed needlework will also be available. Gordon has been a photographer for over 50 years – mainly landscape, flowers and buildings. Carol has painted in various mediums for 20 years and is also experienced in sewing and embroidery.

10am – 5pm
Free entry. All pieces on display available to purchase

Become a Habitat Helper!

Sunday 2nd February
Join the habitat helpers every first Sunday of the month to give the meadows a little TLC. All ages and abilities welcome, tools and refreshments provided.

Abominable, Half Term Film

Monday 17th February
After discovering a Yeti on the roof of her apartment building, teenage Yi and her two friends embark on an epic quest to reunite the magical creature with his family. But to do so, they must stay one step ahead of a wealthy financier and a determined zoologist who want to capture the beast for their own gain.
Monday 17th February. Refreshments, bar and crafts available from 4.30pm. Film starts at 5.30pm
£5 per adult, £3 per child and £15 per family. Booking advised.

Cave Baby and Living the Stone Age

Monday 17th February – Friday 21st February 1pm-2.30pm

February Half Term Family Activity.

Inspired by the well-loved Julia Donaldson’s book of a bored but creative baby and his magic ride through a moonlit landscape on a hairy mammoth. Hear the story of our mammoth; experiment with how cave baby and his parents would have painted and try some other stone age activities – using fire bows, making a natural necklace, make a paper hand axe and practice spear throwing.
£4.00 per accompanied 3-11 year old. Booking advised.

Cave Cooking

Tuesday 18th February 10am-11.30am

February Half Term Cookery - booking essential.

Cook like cave people and forage for your food in the Onny Meadows. Make nettle and ground elder stir fry, oat flat bread, sweet hazelnut bread and stewed fruit.

£7.50 per accompanied 4-11 year old. 10am - 11.30am. Booking essential.

Discovery Tots - Sticks

29th February – 10am-10.45am
See how many things you can do with the sticks around you in the woods.
New club for Under 3s packed full of fun things to do encouraging children to get back to nature, enjoy the outdoors and get creative.

£2.50 per child, adults go free, just turn up. Please bring wellies and appropriate outdoor clothing.


Discovery Club – Stickman

29th February – 11am-12pm
Hear a well loved story, go outside, find just the right sticks and make a man or woman to have adventures and take home with you.

A club for 3+ years olds packed full of fun things to do encouraging children to get back to nature, enjoy the outdoors and get creative.

£2.50 per child, adults go free, just turn up. Please bring wellies and appropriate outdoor clothing.

 

Winter Wellbeing Cookery Course

Thursday 27th February 10am-2pm

February can be a tough time for body and soul. This hands-on cookery session is designed around fighting the blues with vitamin boosts and happy food.

We will be using exciting combinations of natural ingredients to create delicious, colourful dishes to help you through the last phase of winter. From energy snacks and super soups to sharing bowls and indulgent treats.

This session will give you a new zest for cooking and as always you will go away with all you make so do bring plenty of containers!
