Garden Themed Workshops at Bowood

Bowood House & Gardens are launching their 2020 Programme of Events and Workshops.

Planning Planting Workshop - Friday 3rd April 2020 - 10am to 4.30pm

Does the planting in your garden run out of steam half-way through the season? Designing a garden full of plants that look attractive all year requires some forward planning. The Crafty Gardeners share their key tips and techniques that professionals use to keep gardens looking great all year round. They will focus on herbaceous perennials, the flowers that we rely on for months of colour in the border. At the end of the workshop, you will have completed your first planting plan and learned a straightforward method for doing the same thing for your own garden. A well worked out planting plan will save you money, no more expensive mistakes, and gives you the joy of a flower-filled border for most of the year. Plus, as an absolute treat for anyone who loves touring gardens, we have included a guided tour of Lord and Lady Lansdowne’s Private Walled Garden, which is remarkable for its ornamental planting and includes a fabulous double herbaceous border. Combined with a delicious lunch this makes a wonderful day out.
