The Gloucestershire Warwickshire Steam Railway is an award-winning heritage railway running between Cheltenham Race Course, Winchcombe and Toddington Stations in the Glorious Cotswolds. Offering a classic nostalgic experience on its 25-mile round trip, this railway makes an all-weather venue which works well either as part of a tour itinerary or as a destination for day trips.

The journey takes visitors through the spectacular scenery featured in Rory Bremner’s ‘Great British Views’, passing picturesque country stations and a panoramic landscape stretching across the Vale of Evesham, with rolling Cotswold Hills along the other side of the track. Travelling in carefully restored railway carriages and hauled by historic steam locomotives, there is no doubt that this experience has the ‘Wow’ factor, which has led to record-breaking bookings for the railway in 2013.

The extensive timetable allows visitors to take full advantage of all the railway’s facilities, including the gift shop, heritage trail, small museum and tearooms. Refreshments can also be purchased from the buffet on most trains. There are disabled toilet facilities at all three stations, and ramp access to trains is available.

We want your passengers to have a great day out with us, either as a stand-alone destination or alongside some of the many attractions the Cotswold area has to offer. So we make booking easy:  seat reservations with generous discounts for groups can be made and amended without penalty, right up to the day of travel. There is plenty of free coach parking available at all stations, and your tour guide and driver travel on the train free, with a free refreshment voucher for the driver on request.
