At Lyme there is a painting of a servants’ ball, which was painted at the height of the Edwardian age when this great sporting estate was enjoying a golden era.

It captures a moment when Lyme was at its best, however, life would never be the same again after the tragedy of the Great War. You can explore lavish interiors and view treasures and beautiful gardens set against sweeping moorland, then dip into experiences of a vanished age. What was life like before the ball had ended?

Note: Lyme Park is owned and managed by the National Trust and partly financed by Stockport Metropolitan Borough Council. Please note no groups at weekends or Bank Holidays.
