Jordans Mill is a unique food heritage attraction situated in rural Bedfordshire. Home to the Jordan family, Jordans Mill has been transformed into a stunning visitor attraction offering tours of the historic 19th Century flour mill, beautiful gardens, and the Riverside Café serving freshly made food and drinks.

Coach tours are warmly welcomed either as part of a one destination or multi destination trip and we are well equipped to provide a memorable excursion for parties of all sizes.

Step back in time
A key part of the visitor experience is a guided tour of our Mill, steeped in history and situated in a glorious location on the banks of the River Ivel.

Now lovingly restored, with milling having stopped in 2000, the Mill has been transformed into a spectacular heritage attraction. A floor to ceiling glass screen divides the Mill, with the working part of the Mill on one side and a contemporary display area on the other.

Our guided tour, which lasts approximately one hour, takes visitors on a fascinating journey from the beginnings of milling in Bedfordshire to Jordans Cereals’ place as one of the UK’s leading cereal manufacturers.

During the tour, our knowledgeable and friendly tour guides demonstrate the ingenious milling machinery allowing visitors to experience the sights and sounds of this once booming industry and imagine the reality of working in a busy mill.

Interactive and audio visual displays help bring Jordans Mill to life and our tour guides have been known to divulge amusing tales from the Jordan family as they recount the family’s long association with the Mill.

Explore our stunning gardens
After the Mill Tour, visitors are free to explore our stunning Mill Gardens, Meadow and Woodland. Our Mill Gardens, designed by Chelsea Flower Show winners Toll & Kitson, are a fine example of market gardening. These unique food and flower gardens showcase crops, vegetables and fruits grown in an ornamental setting alongside wild flowers and cultivated garden plants.

A stroll through the gardens leads you across the bridge into our Mill Meadow, which teems with wildflowers in the summer and is grazed by our resident sheep in the winter.
The meadow is the perfect spot to admire our abundant wildlife, with cleverly located benches to allow you to relax and enjoy the tranquil surroundings.

Next to the meadow is our woodland area which is specially designed to attract wildlife with its woodpiles, birdboxes and even an insect hotel.

Delicious, freshly made food in a riverside setting
We pride ourselves on serving outstanding food in a very special location. Where possible, we source as much food as possible from nearby suppliers and there’s usually a chance for you to try food straight from the Mill Gardens.

Our large Riverside Café has space for over 100 diners inside and outside, our popular terrace area is a delightful place to linger over a delicious meal overlooking the River Ivel.

For larger parties, our two private rooms on the first floor of the Heritage Centre offer an alternative location for lunch or refreshments with a full range of varied and flexible catering options to suit your requirements.

Both rooms offer beautiful views and a balcony overlooking the River Ivel and Jordans Mill and are equipped with air conditioning.

Easy access
Jordans Mill has been designed to ensure it’s accessible for everyone.

We’re proud to be accredited as a Quality Assured Visitor Attraction from Visit England and are suitable for wheelchair users. Our Heritage Centre, which houses the Riverside Café and Mill Store, is entered by automatic double doors with no steps, with a lift with space for one wheelchair at a time to ensure access to our first floor.

The Riverside Café is fully wheelchair accessible, as are the Mill Gardens, although the footpaths are of an uneven surface in places.
