Departing from the Old Custom’s House in Ipswich Dock, passing through the lock gates and sailing down the beautiful and historic River Orwell and under the Orwell Bridge; a truly memorable way to spend time with friends and family.


Celebrating her 120th anniversary and fully restored in 2006, Sailing Barge Victor is a perfect marriage of a majestic and traditionally rigged 19th century sailing vessel, with comfortable and modern amenities. A truly memorable and affordable opportunity to experience living history and a past way of life.

Sample Itinerary 1:

4 hour Pin Mill and Cream Tea

Departing from The Old Custom’s House in Ipswich Dock, passing through the lock gates and sailing under the Orwell Bridge down to historic Pin Mill. Plenty of opportunities to steer VICTOR under supervision, talk to the crew and enjoy informal commentaries on the maritime history of Ipswich and River Orwell. Return to Old Custom’s House. £30 pp inclusive (based on a minimum of 30 persons)

Sample Itinerary 2:

6 hour Orwell and Historic Harwich Cruise and Tour with Lunch and Cream Tea.

Departing from The Old Custom’s House in Ipswich Dock, passing through the lock gates and sailing under the Orwell Bridge down to historic Harwich Ha’penny Pier. Enjoy lunch on the way down, disembark at Harwich for 2 hour guided tour of historic Harwich, including house of the captain of the Mayflower. Enjoy plenty of opportunities to steer VICTOR under supervision, talk to the crew and enjoy informal commentaries on the maritime history of Ipswich and River Orwell. Return trip includes Cream Tea and the bar will be open at all times for alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. £45 pp inclusive (based on a minimum of 30 persons)
